My coach designer shoes
Part 1
The coach designer sneakers are shoes from the coach fashions. The shoes are marked with quality, style and functionality. The sneaker has the traditional logo of the coach fashions and the trendy signature patchwork patterns that gives the shoe its classy look. The shoes are mainly made of khaki fabric with leather trim at the top edge of the shoe. The sole is made of non-skid rubber with a cushioned insole that gives it a comfortable feeling. The sneakers are either low-rise, high-top or mid-rise designed for either walking running or the normal daily use. The upper part is made of a fabric woven and the seams are visibly enforced with brown leather trim, which is the most common color used though there are others made in grey, black or even purple trim. The high-top shoes are designed to fold down and the insole is well padded to provide an all day comfort.
The main fabric used in the construction of the sneakers is khaki which is usually woven. The insole is first attached to the rubber sole wit specialized type of adhesive. Some are attached through threading to ensure durability. The upper surfaces are then shaped to the different design to fit in the insole in a process known as lasting. The upper surface is then attached to the sole in a process called bottoming, a process that determines the quality, performance and price of the shoe, (Toeslayer). The leather trim is the attached by sewing followed by the decorative part that is so much a coach fashion statement. Patches of different colors and prints are attached to the canvas top to give the shoe its stylish look. The coach sneakers were mainly constructed because of the urge to provide a different kind of style to the market. The market was marked by official leather shoes with no stylish casual shoes thus the inspiration of coach fashions to construct casual shoes for both athletic purposes and normal informal occasions.
Part 2
The construction of the coach designer shoes was influenced mainly by the family business that began around 1941. The designer brand began in Manhattan and is widely known for its collection of footwear. It was mainly influenced by a group of artisans that used leather that was soft and stronger than the other brands in the market. The company first began with the construction of gloves than handbags before the manufacture of shoes. The construction of shoes began in the mid 1990s with the creative talent of designer Reed. At this time coach began to use the distinctive ‘C’ as the logo for its products. Footwear is not coach most popular item but its inspiration began with the manufacture of the handbag that was majorly influenced by the baseball glove that had distinctive, skillful markings that were hand crafted. The revolution of the handbag influenced the manufacture of other accessories like the shoes.
The origin of couch designs can also be from the influence of china where the art of transforming leather into beautiful crafts has been a normal culture. The Chinese have unique craftsmanship that incorporates the use of different materials to produce beautiful items through skillful hand decorations. The designs and the stitching that are made on the products of couch are however very unique and give the couch designs a cut above the rest.
Part 3
The counterfeits of the coach designer sneakers resemble the shoes in terms of how they are made and in resemblance but the counterfeits are made from a different material than the original canvas and leather. The counterfeits are made of stiff, thick leather and lack the coach stamp. The other fake sneakers are made from plastic with hard soles that do not offer any comfort. The development of the couch designer sneakers led to the beginning of the manufacture of other designs of shoes that would resemble the sneakers in style and make but differed in the decorative and artistic value that the coach sneakers possessed. The couch tried to curb the issue of counterfeits through handling sales only through the factories outlets and specific outlets that are basically known as the couch designs shops.
The major trend that were manufactured from the influence of the couch sneakers designs was the male sport shoes that tend to ape the style of the couch design but were mainly made of canvas with no leather trim on it but had a rubber sole. Different fashion houses came up with their own brand of sneakers like Nike and puma but the couch designer sneakers can still be seen as the most stylish and classy pair of shoe to own because of the vibrant designs that they come in and the skillful decorations and prints that stand out above all the rest of the designs.
The couch fashion brand has however had its own share of accusations of imitation, but the incorporation of the unique materials and the many designs that their products come in gives them the uniqueness that their brand can be associated with. The couch products have been branded with unique serial numbers that distinguish the authentic products from the counterfeits. The stores that sell discounted couch shoes are also available with the products having a unique stamp to show it’s authentic, (Vivian 84). The stitches and the way the logo is encrypted in the couch products also serves as another way of distinction from the counterfeits. The stitches are usually small, tight and even, the logo ‘coach’ is stamped on the metal and the outline of the word is enclosed in the box. The counterfeits will lack the stamp and whenever the stamp is available it will not be enclosed in a box.
