Studying for a test is one of the most important tips for any learner. For a student to do well in their exams, they need to prepare adequately to keep their grades up. No one can teach good study skills, and students must know what works best for them. Some behaviors/tasks that learners can employ to boost their performance include getting rid of distractions, rewarding themselves for each milestone achieved, practicing old exams, and drinking plenty of water.

The aforementioned tasks will go a long way in helping students study adequately for exams. Reducing distractions is important as it reduces the urge of students to take a quick break during study time. Students tend to be surrounded by distractions that make it harder for them to concentrate on their studies. They range from social media, cell phones, television, music, etc. The best way to avoid distractions is to remove them completely from the study space. The best way to avoid distractions is to eat before studying, keep the phone on silent mode, and turn off the Wi-Fi when it is not in use. Another effect task would be rewarding oneself with a small reward for every milestone achieved. An example is going out for ice cream after a day of good study habits. Practicing old exams is one of the oldest tricks to pass an exam. In this case, students should make use of the library and revise past exams because there is a huge possibility that lecturers will revise exams. This helps students familiarize themselves with the exam format and know the exact time to spend on each section. Lastly, drinking water is also important because staying hydrated ensures the brain works well. Therefore, while revising, learners should habitually drink plenty of water and also on the material day of the exam.
